The College of International Education won the Chinese Classics Reading Contest "Building Dreams from Classics to the Future"

In order to implement the spirit of the National Language Conference and promote the excellent Chinese language and culture, the Chinese Classics Reading Contest "Building Dreams from Classics to the Future", held by China University of Petroleum (Beijing), was held in the staff Activity center on October 20, 2022. The College of International Education has achieved good results:Sudanese undergraduate student Yu Ni won the first prize and the best charm award, Niger undergraduate student Yi Zhiyuan won the third prize.

Before the competition, the College of International Education mobilized students, encouraged them to challenge themselves and actively participate in the competition, and provided guidance to students to help them better understand the cultural connotation of classic works. Under the organization of the college, international students actively register, participate in exercises, understand the Chinese culture and the charm of the Chinese language through reading.

On the day of the competition, the students presented the connotation and practical significance of Chinese excellent traditional culture through their emotional interpretation of classic works. The Scenery of Guilin brought by Yu Ni shows the love for the magnificent scenery of Guilin and the love and yearning for the great rivers and mountains in China, which makes the audience feel as if they are immersed in the beauty of Guilin. “High Mountains and Long Roads” by Yi Zhiyuan expresses the optimistic, hardworking and positive attitude of the contemporary youth, and meets the challenges in the future with a high attitude. On the stage, the two students were well prepared and full of emotion. Their reading and performance integrated into one and won warm applause from the judges and the audience. In the comment section, the judges spoke highly of the two international students. They praised their deep and delicate understanding of classic works, their language was infectious, and they affirmed their performance.

The College of International Education has held many Chinese and foreign calligraphy exchange activities, essay contest activities and Chinese dubbing activities for international students, aiming to promote cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries and enhance international students' understanding of Chinese culture.
